Special sneak peek of the second Time Travelers book from my blog Dragonmaster

I know lots of you guys have read the first book of The Time Travelers series on my blog Dragonmaster. Here is a sneak peek of the first chapter of the second book.

1
The Time Quest

The girls woke up all at the same time. The oldest sister, Jennifer, flicked her hazel eyes open, staring around the room. She flicked a piece of long brown hair over her shoulder and got off the couch she’d been lying on.
The second oldest, Victoria, opened her blue eyes and looked around. She blew a strand of long blonde hair out of her face and got off the sitting chair she’d been sleeping on, coming to join Jennifer in standing.
Katherine, the second youngest, burst awake, her fierce green eyes staring around at her sisters in disbelief. Lying on her lap, almost hidden in her piles of black hair, was the Book—the huge, aqua colored book that contained the secret of Time Travel.
And the youngest, Elizabeth, screamed and then burst out of her sleeping state, huge gray eyes blinking around and bright red hair flying as she cried,
“Where is he?! Where he is he?!”
“Relax, Elizabeth,” Jennifer smiled gently. She shrugged lightly, a wan smile on her face. “We’re home.”
The sisters all looked around the room—she was right. They were home, in the girls’ own special sitting room upstairs. There was Katherine’s pile of books, and Jennifer’s table full of scientist goo, and Elizabeth’s pile of balls and play swords, and Victoria’s wrap lying on the couch.
“We’re actually back,” breathed Victoria in disbelief. “But remember what the person said? About the question for the four original Time Travelers?”
Jennifer narrowed her eyes and stared off into space, clenching her teeth. “I bet my life that that was Father Time.”
“Jolly mean fellow, wasn’t he?” snorted Elizabeth, staring out the window over the rooftops of London. “I say, wouldn’t the four original Time Travelers be our parents and grandparents?”
Katherine sent Elizabeth a look. “Snap out of your snooty accent, Elizabeth. And, yes, I think you may be right.”
“So maybe the book will guide us,” whispered Victoria. She looked up at her sisters, her eyes bright. “Maybe all we have to do is touch it again, and the Book with take us to where we need to find the person. We’ll still have to find the person and bring them to Father Time, of course, but still…” Victoria started pacing. “The possibilities….”
“Victoria is right,” Jennifer nodded. “It’s time our Time Quest began.”
Victoria nodded, carefully taking the book from Katherine and placing it on the floor. She looked up at her sisters. “Grandmother’s obviously not here. If she was, then she’d be yelling at us to get up. Come on—we’ve got to get started.”
The other sisters nodded, and they arranged themselves in a circle around the book. At the same moment, they pressed their four hands together on the book.
Everything seemed black, at first. Then all of them could see a dim light, like a tunnel appearing out of the never-ending darkness. The light seemed to swirl all of them into its light, taking them from the clutches of the dark.
Then there was a blast of light, and then they saw something that never before had been seen by the human eye.
They were in space. But they were moving forward, and rapidly. Moving towards a thing that none of them knew what it was. It looked like an eye, to them, at least.
There was a blast of light as they drew closer to the thing that looked like an eye. It had in their first journey, too. And then there they were, standing on the stone platform that hung weightlessly in space.
The stone was black, just as it had been before. They looked towards where the door that had led them to Greece had been. Instead of the huge door that they’d seen, they now saw a wooden door.
Surprisingly the rest of them, Victoria stepped forward first.
  “Wait!” cried Jennifer. “What if…”
“Remember last time,” Victoria smiled. “We’ve got to go. We’ve got to find everybody and bring them back to Father Time.” She shuddered. “Who knows what will happen if we don’t.”
Victoria turned to the door, reached out, and touched it. Light sprayed out and blinded them.

More of my story

Here's some more of my "little kid" story. ;D

~Storyteller

Chapter V
Where’s Jennifer?

I cut a little hole, just to see my surroundings. I saw that only one nomad was guarding me…but where was Jennifer? Surely she was here tied up in a sack, too. She probably was.
Just then, five other nomads came walking up the dusty hill. Great—there went my chance of escaping. Nice going, Allegra.
They walked up to the other nomad.
“Devin, untie the sack,” commanded the leader of the group.
I hurriedly stuffed my dagger back into my sash, just as I was dumped out of the sack. They all laughed at me as I tried to run away.
Devin, though, had grabbed me by the collar. “Where do you think you’re going? You think your father can save you?”
Just then, I thought of something—there were no nomads in England. Well, at least not ones who dress like that
.  I glanced at one of the guy’s clothes, and saw a French army uniform underneath his costume.
  My mouth dropped.
“Surprise, surprise,” laughed the main man. “You didn’t expect beloved Duke Rubian to be a spy for France, did you?”
So Rubian was a person in the book? And he’d kidnapped me? And I knew him? But why?
“Why would you do it, Ru?” the name “Ru” came out of my mouth before I could stop it, as though this were part of the book, or as if I had known this man for a long time. I could feel that he had been a kind of uncle-like person to me.
He laughed. “Why? For power, of course!” he laughed again. “And besides, everybody knows that you’re the most favored girl at the castle. Everybody would do anything to save you.” He chuckled evilly. “Even give up the throne.”
I kicked him in the shins, and elbowed Devin painfully in the stomach. Grabbing a horse nearby, I dug my heels into its sides—HARD.
I had never ever ridden a horse before, so all I could do when it broke into a dead gallop was hang on.
I kind of wished it were a dog, so I could just yell, “find the castle”! or something like that.
Instead, I held on and hoped the horse would go the right way.
Hopefully.

I clung on, and the horse kept on going and going. I wished I had learned more about horses when we had been back in England. Wait, this was England—just not my England…this was one out of a book.
As I rode, I glanced behind me to see if anybody was following—not yet, thank goodness. I wished I could somehow have had the book—then, I could find out what happened, and prevent anything happening to me—like secretly getting kidnapped by Duke Rubian or something.
I sighed, and reached into my pocket—and felt something that almost made me fall off the horse. I pulled it out into the sunlight, unsure if it really could be…
“The book!” I shrieked in happiness.
I opened it up, and saw the part about how we had been kidnapped and everything. It said I got kidnapped, got away and…then the writing disappeared. I couldn’t believe it—why? Why had it disappeared? Great. Not good at all.
Just then, I saw the towers of a castle looming ahead, before me. The horse ran over the drawbridge into the town, and into the village. All of the people were shouting and yelling. The horse rode on, going towards the castle. We hurried through the gate, and a boy took my horse.
I second I stepped off, I was swamped by nobles.
“Excuse me!” I yelled. “Where’s Princess Aspen? I must speak with her!” Aka Jennifer, of course.
“Princess Aspen?” asked one of the nobles. “Wasn’t she with you?”

Chapter VI
Remembering Sean

I was hurriedly ushered into the royal castle by the nobles who had swamped me in the first place, and I had a hard time trying not to step on anybody (or trying not to get stepped on). Soon, I could see bright torchlights ahead. We turned to the right and came into the throne room.
   We all bowed.
“What is this?” asked the King, joylessly. “The beloved Rose of Darrellby castle has been restored! Come, girl!”
I walked tentatively up to the throne and bowed. “Your Majesty.”
He nodded. “How art thou doing, Rowena?”
I nodded. “I am fine. Hast thou seen thy daughter, Aspen?”
He laughed. “Aspen? No, I haven’t, and I don’t really care. You will probably take over the castle, anyway—you are betrothed to my son…”
I choked, and just barely had time to hide it. Betrothed? I was going to die!
“Thy servant has to go now!” I said hurriedly.
I bowed again, and hurried out of the throne room.  I had no idea where my room was, so I just hurried down the halls of the castle and tried to stay out of the way, such as hiding the shadows of the dark halls, where the torches cast no light.
Just then, I saw that I was going toward the main door. I speeded up my steps—surely they had a stable, right? Then I could get some fresh air! I hurried along and out the door, making a beeline to the barn. I breathed in the deep, soothing scent of hay.
  “Psst!”
I looked around and saw Alan hiding behind the door. “Alan?”
He sighed madly. “Yes, Alan. I just managed to get out of the way of that weirdo and I heard from a villager that you were back here. So, I’m here to make you get me back to England. Come on, how do I get back?”
I looked at him. “Well, frankly I don’t know. But you’re smart, you should find out how by yourself.”
Alan fell onto his knees. “Please take me back to England! I’ll to anything! I’ll never be mean to you again! Just PLEASE get me home!”
I sighed. “I’m sorry. Oh, by the way, have you seen Jennifer? She disappeared in a night attack by some weird Duke and nobody’s seen her.”
Alan gawked. “YOU were in a battle?! Why didn’t you tell me?! Don’t you think I would have liked to know?”
I shook my head. “It wasn’t like you think it was.”
Then I remembered the Duke—I had to tell the King!

A while later (after already telling the King about the duke) I had finally managed to find my room. I sat on the bed, thinking—and I was starting to think that the Duke wasn’t the real bad guy. Sure, he had tried to kidnap me (which he kind of succeeded in, but anyway…) but he just wasn’t the type—he wasn’t evil enough.  Who could be the Mastermind behind all of this?
I know I should’ve probably have been trying to find a way out of here and back to the real England, but while I was here, I might as well try to help the people, right? Well, that was my point of view. And then we had the case of Jennifer having disappeared. I already knew where Alan was, but I couldn’t leave without my best friend.
I glanced out the window, at the courtyard, the stables, the village behind…how come there wasn’t some riddle to follow to find the answer to all of my questions like in all of the books? How come there wasn’t some guy who came and helped me to find out who the bad guy was? And where on earth was someone who could help me find Jennifer…?
Wait! The main character! Sean! Where on earth was he? And what was I talking about? I had to the book for goodness sakes!
I quickly grabbed it and hurried out the door.

The Revenge of Captain Jerk--Chapter 3 of Storyteller's Story

Hey, guys, here's the next chapter. Sorry I didn't post yesterday!! I am so bad about this..... I feel like an 80 year old lady, lol..... ;)

The Revenge of Captain Jerko

“…And this is Jessica Freeman.”
I was glad that the teacher had only briefly introduced me. I knew that in some places they didn’t introduce at all. I guess at small towns like Zodiac that they do. Any which way, it was strange. Everybody was just like staring at me.
“Anyway…” the teacher, Ms. Swanson, went off on another bunny-trail. She was an easily distracted teacher, the result of which some of the kids used to their advantage.
Ping! A rubber band shot off the finger of a boy next to me. His blue eyes sparkled mischievously. He noticed me staring at him in horror and only pushed his dark blonde hair off his forehead.
To my other horror I felt a note being slipping into my lap. I glanced over my shoulder and saw Logan trying to hide the fact that he’d just slipped a note onto my lap.
Jessie—that’s Sam. He’s one of the pranksters. You probably don’t want to hang out with him, because he’s known to get his friends in trouble on purpose. He thinks it’s funny.
   My horror mounted.
I quickly glanced around for some way to get rid of the note before somebody else noticed it. I heard a quiet snicker and turned, seeing Sam laughing at me. I glared at him, but he only shrugged and looked towards Ms. Swanson, who was trying to figure out who’d fired the rubber band.
The rest of school was far from better.
When the rest of the school found out that I didn’t have a founded “name”, and was called Jessica by my dad, Jess by my mom, and Jessie by my “secret best friend” (yeah right—grow up!), I knew I’d never hear the end of it.
“Hey, Freeman!” yelled Sam down the hallway as I was walking towards my locker. His slim, athletic form took the few feet between us quickly. He stared me down. “So, what’s your name? Jessica, Jess, or Jessie? Or, wait—is it’s noodle-face?” he burst out laughing.
Tears pricked my eyes. I tried to push them back. For goodness sakes, I was almost in high school. I was way too old for tears, especially in front of bullies. Instead, I pushed them back and faced Sam head-on, glaring at him and standing firm.
He only laughed harder. “And what do you think you are, Captain Japan?”
“Is that supposed to be funny?” I demanded. “Or were you purposely trying to make yourself sound stupid?”
He seemed to be totally surprised by that, and took a step backwards.
“And just to say, I’m half Chinese,” I corrected. “Not Japanese. There’s a big difference, you know.” I pushed him backwards. “Learn it.” Then I walked off.
Logan hurried over to me as I reached my locker. “Oh my gosh! That was totally awesome! Dude, you just like totally pushed Sam off in front of like everybody! You’re practically a hero, dude!”
I glared at him. “I’m not a ‘dude’.”
He shrugged. “Whatever, Jessie. That’s not the point! That was awesome!”
“Thanks.” I managed a wan smile, grabbing my books out of my pretty much bare locker. It wasn’t at all like my locker in California, which had been covered in stickers and signatures from my friends.
“You know,” mused Logan, following me down the hallway as if we were already best friends and hadn’t just met the day before, “if you’re Captain Japan or China or whatever, than that must mean that Sam’s Captain America! Yeah, that’s a good name for him.”
“I like Captain America,” I pointed out.
Logan shrugged. “Well, if you’re Captain China, then he’s got to be captain of something.
“How about Captain Jerko?” I offered sarcastically.
Logan paused for a moment before his face lit up. “Of course! It’s perfect! You don’t know how many people you’re going to inspire by naming him and everything.” Logan’s face was in a huge smile. “I have to tell everybody!”
     And Logan ran off.

It was finally the end of school. I grabbed my backpack in relief that I was finally done with the first day of school at the horror of Zodiac Middle School. The place should’ve been named Horror Middle School. It would’ve been perfect.
I hadn’t seen Logan since he’d ran off to go tell everybody that Sam’s name was now Captain Jerko. Frankly, it made him seem pretty immature. Oh, well.
As I walked out of the doors, I couldn’t help but have the feeling that I was being followed. I remembered all of those movies where the bully follows you after you say something back to them or something.
I’d just humiliated Sam in front of the whole hallway full of kids. This couldn’t be good.
I walked more quickly, sticking to groups of kids. I’d just walked out the door when I felt somebody grab my shoulder. I was sure I was going to be doomed, and that all my parents would ever find would be a pile of sucked bones.
      I was about to scream.
“Jessie, shh!” warned Logan, glancing around the corner into the school.
“Logan!” I hissed. “Why on earth did you do that? You totally freaked me out!”
“We still have to wait for your mom,” he pointed out, looking back at me. “But she’s not here yet. I’m sure that Captain Jerko’s going to be making his move soon. I mean, you did make fun of him in front of the whole hallway.”
“I did not make fun of him!” I defended. “I was defending myself.”
“Yeah, well, he’s hopping mad. I can tell.” Logan glanced around the corner again.
“It’s not as if we can just sit here for the rest of the day,” I pointed out. “Come on. Mom’s probably on the other end of the parking lot.”
Logan sighed in frustration. “Even if she is, we wouldn’t survive until there! Look!” he pointed towards the door.
Sam walked out. He was followed by an athletic boy with dark brown hair and a boy who could’ve been a surfer for all I knew. Logan pulled me farther behind the corner of the block.
“We’re so dead, we’re so dead,” Logan kept on repeating underneath his breath.
Sam’s eyes surveyed the parking lot. He spoke to his friends, and then they split up. The dark brown haired boy walked our way. Logan gulped. I wanted to roll my eyes, but the seriousness of the situation took hold of me.
I was about to get the beating of my life.

Yes, this story is extremely short

Sorry. I finished it on Word, so I'm eager to start another story. That's why this will be rather a bit longer, and then I'll start a much longer one after this.

VOICE OF AN ANGEL: THE REST

Amanda walked shyly up to me while I was eating lunch. ‘’Can I sit here?’’ ‘’Sure,’’ I answer, trying my best to smile. ‘’I was surprised when I got Belle, because I was sure you would get it,’’ Amanda said, staring fixedly at her apple. ‘’I still feel like you should of got it. So, I’m saying this: I know they’ll give you Belle if I ask them to. I don’t mind taking April.’’ Amanda paused for a second. ‘’I just want to know if I really got this part,’’ Amanda said, her eyes blurring a little. I couldn’t help myself—I hugged her {I’m not the hugging type—not all girls want pink ponies}. ‘’I really don’t mind. I never really wanted Belle, anyway,’’ I say.  Amanda looked into my eyes, shocked. ‘’Thanks,’’ she quietly said.
‘’So I’m Dominic,’’ Dalton quietly says, staring at the ground. It was after the announcement, and we were walking home. ‘’And I’m April. What about it?’’ I ask, frowning. ‘’Don’t they get, um, married,’’ Dalton says, staring even harder at the ground. ‘’They do!’’ I almost scream worriedly. This is horrible, I thought. Dalton and I were just friends—I promise. And I wanted to keep it that way. ‘’Well, Mom says next year I can date,’’ I say awkwardly, kidding {I was sixteen}. Dalton stares at me, mouth hanging open. ‘’I was kidding, I was kidding!’’ I practically scream. We part awkwardly at our houses.
That night changed my life.
‘’Dears,’’ Mom says, leaning on Dad. We were eating our favorite dinner—sugar snap peas, mashed potatoes, and chicken {yes, we even like the peas}. ‘’Y’all are going to have a baby brother or sister!’’ Victoria’s mouth hangs open, and mine, too. You might think my mouth was hanging open because of the news. Um, no. It was because Mom said ‘’y’all’’. ‘’You know we aren’t southern, right?’’ Victoria asks, thinking the same thing I was thinking.
The rehearsals passed quickly. Nobody made any huge mistakes, as we were all fairly good singers. I can’t say I remember any that well, except for the last one:
Amanda was singing one of Belle’s lines, missing all the notes. ‘’For the last time, Amanda, hit the notes!’’ Drama Teacher yelled. ‘’I’m sorry!’’ Amanda sobbed. It was a bad day for everybody—we were all missing up. ‘’Nicole Patterson, please report to the principle’s office,’’ a cool voice came over the loud speakers. Courtney, my understudy, took my place.
In my head, I counted anything that could be called to the principle’s office for. Nothing. ‘’Nicole,’’ Mr. Mattern said, face stricken. ‘’Your mother is giving birth. Your aunt will be here any second to pick you up.’’ ‘’But my mom isn’t due for at least two months!’’ I said, frowning. ‘’I’m sorry,’’ was all Mr. Mattern said. I walk to the front of the school and put my head in my hands, not thinking.
‘’Aunt Maeve says she’s going to buy us ice cream!’’ Victoria exclaims. ‘’Where’s the best ice cream shop?’’  Maeve asks {she’s only two years older than me}, driving nowhere. ‘’Ben and Jerry’s,’’ I say blankly, staring out the window. ‘’That it is.’’
Maeve and Victoria were playing Scrapple, but I was drawing my feelings out. I drew a tearing heart, two best friends, babies, and ice cream. Yes, I thought, I can officially be labeled mental.
‘’Hey, girls,’’ Dad said, sitting wearily on the sofa. ‘’Girls, why don’t you go upstairs?’’ Maeve asks. ‘’No way,’’ I answer, ‘’I’m almost as old as you.’’ Victoria, though, ran upstairs obediently. ‘’Your mother is doing well. The doctors say she’ll live,’’ Dad says, grinning. Maeve sobs a little.
Later, Dad hugs us all and puts Victoria to bed. I sigh, and go up too. Maeve stays down and watches the latest dance show she can find.  I sleep well, knowing that everything will be alright. After all, it was in God’s hands.
I wake up early, and hear cries. Victoria, I think instantly, throwing my comforter off, and getting ready to comfort her from a bad dream. But no, those are a newborn’s cries. ‘’Mom!” I whisper as I run down the stairs.
Maeve is bended over a small, wrinkly and pink baby. With a head full of fiery red hair, and greenish blue eyes. Victoria is there, also. ‘’Why did Daddy bring home a baby troll?’’ She asks, twitting her short strawberry blonde hair. Dad steps out from the shadows, with purple lines under his face. He is unshaven, with half a cup full of coffee in his hands. ‘’Vicky,’’ he sighs, ‘’Mommy is going to be gone for a while.’’ His eyes meet mine, telling me the untold truth. Mom isn’t coming back. My knees  weaken, and I struggle to get to a chair. ‘’Lily wanted you to name her,’’ Maeve sighs, gently kissing the baby on the forehead. ‘’Annabelle, then Lily, after Mom. But we should call her Belle for short,’’ I say, touching Belle’s hair. Her eyes open, and stare unblinkingly into mine. Within her eyes, you can see it. The gentle fingers she’d use as a doctor, the spirit as hope, the loveliness, the beautifulness—she is more like Mom than we’d ever know.

15 YEARS LATER:
I was wrong—Belle wasn’t a doctor, but a dancer. She twirled on her toes, and seemed like she was floating when she jumped. Then she decided to become an actress, and then after that a farmer… who knows what will be next for my fiery little sister?

If you're wondering what happened to the play, I don't gather info before writing a story. I know, I'm horrible, but whatever. :P
I haven't decided what's going to be next, but it'll be exciting. I'm really into Greek Culture {and I have almost 30 WORD pages done of a book}, plus I like Percy Jackson, so I'm thinking there might be something like that. It's currently name-less--Just like my other book. Oh, well. :P
P.S. Authors, we also have a schedual over to the left. It doesn't have a calendar, but if you've got the hang of your days it's pretty helpful. ;)

Wiki Pages // New Header

Hey y'all!
I had the change the header, because I felt mean leaving Hadassah's name as 'Unknown'. :) How do you like it? Due to issues I had to change some things.

Also, Storyteller and I have come up with a marvelous idea!
WIKI PAGES!
Their like our own wikipedia pages. I made mine above when I changed the header, so you can view it above for example. Basically you put a few pictures of yourself up {or something else if you aren't allowed}, and some info about you, and perhaps some blogs for readers to follow! Storyteller will have to make you an admin, and there are some certain rules you need to follow:

No going on the settings page. They have all of the authors' emails up there, which you CANNOT give out. Storyteller will make you back to a normal author.
Just because we want nice followers on this blog, you probably shouldn't post bad words or bad pictures of yourself {in-a-pro-pro pictures, I mean} on your wiki page. We don't want some weird creepy {fat, middle-aged} men stalking us. This is for the sake of us all!
Don't abuse  your admin power, such as no editing other's words/works of art! I'm pretty sure that could get you kicked {we'd miss your wonderful stories!}. :(

If there is anything else, Storyteller will probably tell you when she/he {?} adds you.
P.S. Storyteller, if you want me to take any of the rules off or change something, please tell me! Even though we all write on here, it's really your blog! {or feel free to change my words :)}

The cry of Humming Bird, part 1

It was cold outside as I walked the moonlit path.  I wrapped my shawl closer around me and looked up at the trees.
Don't let your imagination run away with you, Rebecca.  You know that wouldn't be wise. I said to myself.  Somewhere in the woods a twig snapped.  I twisted my head around quickly and listened, hardly daring to breath.  A deer ran out of the woods and onto the path almost 4 yards away from me.
"Hello there friend." I said softly and slowly.  "What are you running from?"

As if to answer my question, the deer started running as fast as it could go and a wild cat jumped out and took its place right in front of me.
Hold still.  Don't move!  Please Lord, turn the wild cat away.  Please!  I started praying frantically.
The cat stepped closer, sniffed the air, then took another step toward me.  This is it!  What did papa tell me?!?!?!?  Was it that cat are scared of loud noises?  I beg you Lord please send the cat away!  The cat stepped closer.
"Don't run and he won't chase you..." My father’s voice drifted through my mind.  The cat stopped and growled.  He was getting ready to pounce.  I shut my eyes.  All of the sudden a blood curdling cry cut through the air.  The cat jumped and ran back into the woods.
I didn't know what to do so I stayed put.  Then I started thinking.  Where did the cry come from?  Was it an animal or was it human?  What should I do???
The ferns shook and I heard foot steps.  I sliped into the shadow of the nearest tree and crouched there.  The foot steps came closer.  A girl stood on the path right in front of me.
"Hello?  Is anybody out there?  I am a friend!  Please come out if you are hiding!  I am alone and frightened."  The girl said.  "Please come.  I need help!" Her voice had a tone of fear and urgancy.
I stepped out of the shadow.
"Peace."  I said showing both of my hands out, "I also am a friend.  My name is Rebecca.  What do you need help with?"  The girl jumped slightly then said, "My name is Humming Bird.  And my father has been kidnaped."

I hope you liked this story!
